What Is The Strength Behind Your Decisions?

These days, there are trends here and there. You see people partaking in them and you see others that don’t. Do they have strength behind decisions that they make? These people who partook in them do they have personal reasons for such actions? How about people who didn’t? Are they too weak to join? Read this post to know when to join in a trend.

Been unique simply means you’ve stood out from the crowd and found your own path. Been unique also means even if you follow the crowd, you have personal reasons for doing so. A benefit of being unique is that you’ll be able to progress while others are stagnant (I mean people who don’t know why they’re doing what they’re doing).

You may see a certain hair cut that has gained popularity and notice almost everyone with it. You joining in the trend is normal but deciding not to join or to join (perhaps cause you’ve noticed it’s benefits on you) makes you unique. This post is here to explain how to differentiate between strength and weakness in decision-making.

Here are two examples between strength and weakness:
What’s the strength behind decisions you make

1. You’re a girl and all your mates are having boyfriends and most are now having the mindset that being promiscuous makes you cooler so they’ll start visiting different boys from Street to street with a mission to ‘gather them’ while you’re at home.
Why aren’t you doing your own boyfriend search?

* Is it cause you don’t have beautiful clothes to go out? You’re weak
* Is it cause you lack self-esteem? You’re weak
* Is it cause you feel you’re too beautiful so boys should be the ones hunting for you? You’re weak
* Is it cause you know it’s a sin? You’re strong
* Is it cause you know your worth would be devalued day by day? You’re strong

2. You’re a guy and every one of your friends are into internet fraudulent business and they’re making it big. Day by day, positive stories are being told while you’re just watching them.
Why don’t you join in and make quick cash?
* Is it cause you don’t have laptop or phone or any Internet access? You’re weak
* Is it cause you haven’t brush up in your English skills? You’re weak
* Is it cause you feel you can’t defend yourself if probed? You’re weak
* Is it cause your parents are rich so you feel you have enough money? You’re still weak
* Is it cause you know you’re ruining other people’s lives? You’re strong
* Is it cause you know it’s wrong? You’re strong
* Is it cause you’re planning ahead for a bright stainless future? You’re strong.

Now the question is: of all countless trends that people engage in, how do I know when am weak or strong in the decision I take? Here’s the answers:

When you’ve got strength behind decisions....

1.You decide, not because people did, but cause you thought its beneficial to you

2. Remember that the earth and people/things in it are everything that’s not you so if you ever face a situation of pleasing yourself alone, perhaps making someone feel hurt or something don’t feel right, you’re strong for not doing it

3. Remember that you not doing something wrong cause your resources aren’t complete makes you a weak person

4. Know that you not doing something right cause your resources aren’t complete don’t mean you’re weak

5. Always remember that it’s your life and life has no duplicate. Don’t do things solely because people do it.

6. Weakness means you did not partake in any given trend because you think you’re not yet fit or you partook because other people partook whereby strength means you did not partake because you’re stronger than the temptation, able to reason for yourself or you partook cause you’ve found personal favor in it

7. In a nutshell, trends are good because they open your eyes to something you may not have known but your reason for participating or not participating in them should be reviewed

So there you have it. Make sure you don’t follow the trend simple cause it’s the trend.

FUNAI Lecturers Undergo Multi-Media Training

In a bid to build the ICT capacities of the academic staff especially in the use of multi-media technologies for teaching and learning, the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, recently organized a hands-on training to prepare and usher them into the first semester of the 2017/2018 academic session.

Declaring the week-long event open, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba stressed the importance of ICT in the 21st century  knowledge-based economy, adding that the training  would enhance the teaching, learning and research activities of the institution,  helping it attain its aspiration of  becoming a world class University.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, urged the lecturers to:  “Take the opportunity seriously considering the importance of PowerPoint presentation in the teaching profession in this 21st century”, noting that the problem with the Nigerian   education sector was mostly lack of proper management and capacity.

He further stated that attendance to the training was compulsory, adding that it would also form one of the criteria for the payment of staff salary.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Director of the Centre for Human Resource Development under whose auspices the workshop was organized, Professor Olufemi Adeyeye said: “Considering our today’s contemporary society, there is a paradigm shift from chalkboard to PowerPoint”;  saying that
“we have to be technologically equipped so as to meet the prevailing needs of the 21st century.”  He maintained that power point presentation was very important in the everyday teaching and learning activities.

Speaking on the imperativeness of PowerPoint Presentation in today’s education, Handel Emezue emphasized its relevance to include easy connection between students and lecturers; increase in visual arts and design, and easy storage and retrieval of information.

Matthew Eze in his presentation maintained that PowerPoint possesses the capacity to formulate charts, tables and objects used for teaching and learning, adding that it helps in analytical expressions, both for verbal and visual comprehension.

Other resource persons that included Chidiebere Eze also enlightened the lecturers on the use for PowerPoint in text and image formatting to create designs.

The training was one of the numerous avenues the University is adopting to make its academic staff ICT-savvy in order to meet the demands of 21stt century teaching and learning experience, all geared towards churning out graduates that possess  the relevant functional knowledge and sellable skills to compete favourably in a globalized economy.

UNICAL to Partner Arthur Jarvis Varsity on Establishment of Academic Units

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu has promised to assist the Management of the first Private University in Cross River State, Arthur Jarvis University in the establishment of various academic units.

Prof. Akpagu who made the promise in his office during a courtesy call on him by the Vice-Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University; Prof. Julian Osuji said plans are in top gear to assist the private varsity in the setting up of faculties and departments. The Vice-Chancellor expressed joy that at long last, Cross River State have joined the league of states with Private Universities, adding that it would contribute in no small measure in the development of human resources and help in expanding the frontiers of teaching and learning.

Prof. Akpagu said UNICAL had been mandated by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to mentor and midwife academic activities in Arthur Jarvis University, stressing that it would not reneged on that mandate but strive hard to place the institution on a higher pedestal in order to achieve academic excellence.
He said, ‘’ I am happy that finally we now have a private university and I pray God to give you the resources to grow fast. Our doors are open to you formally and informally and I know we would have a great relationship. ‘’ We congratulate you for establishing the University which we believe will have great impact in our state and country.

We got a letter from the National Universities Commission (NUC) intimating us of our role to midwife your institution and we will do so by synergizing with you to establish departments and faculties’’ Earlier in his remarks, Vice- Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University, Prof. Julian Osuji described UNICAL as a ‘senior university’, stating that the resourcefulness of UNICAL had given them the impetus to grow higher.

This came as he lauded Prof. Akpagu for taking up the onerous task of assisting the institution in the attainment of academic excellence. Prof. Osuji said, ‘’ we have been looking for opportunity to have audience with UNICAL.

We got our license which is to be midwife by UNICAL. ‘’ UNICAL is one of the pillars that have been sustaining Arthur Jarvis University that is why I call it a senior university. Its resourcefulness has also given us the impetus to grow higher.

Chief Agbese who was accompanied by board members of the media organization said the success story of UNICAL under Akpagu’s leadership has attracted global attention to the country, adding its image at the international level is loud and clear to the world that Nigeria with the right leadership is indeed the giant of Africa. He said Professor Akpagu bagged the award after weeks of online and social media voting by Nigerians.

The Publisher said the Vice-Chancellor has performed beyond expectations especially in the prudent management of financial resources through accountability and transparency, infrastructural development which attracted TETFUND to name him as a member of the TETFUND Project Monitoring Committee.

Under Akpagu’s watch, he said UNICAL has made history as the first tertiary institution in the country to fight against academic indiscipline such as plagiarism, intellectual property theft, examination malpractice, among others. Chief Agbese said the Akpagu’s administration has also blazed the trail by promoting ICT as a modern tool for learning and teaching in and outside the institution, adding that there has been great improvement in staff welfare and lecturers, accreditation of courses to enhance intake capacity and zero tolerance for cultism.

In his acceptance speech, the Vice-Chancellor commended the Publisher and other board members of the media organization for conferring him with the award, adding that the award is the most cherished among the avalanche of awards he has received since he took over the helm of affairs of the institution.

The Vice Chancellor who extolled the virtues of the Publisher described him as a man of character and integrity that would not compromise standards even as he urged him to keep doing the right thing, which he said, will make him excel in his chosen profession. He said, ‘’ this award means a lot to us and I am overwhelmed with emotions.

It occupies the first position among other awards I have received.” Professor Akpagu who dedicated the award to the entire staff and students of the institution said he would not rest on his oars but strive hard to take the institution to greater heights. He said within the period he has been on the saddle, there have been curriculum expansion, adding that he has also embarked on massive infrastructural development in order to give the institution a facelift.
